Genfibrozil-hypolipidaemic drugs and its therapeutic uses

                                   
INTRODUCTION-
A lipid regulating agent that lowers elevated serum lipids primarily by dedcreasing serum triglyceride with a variable reduction in total cholesterol.
These decreases occur primarily in the VLDL fractions and less frequently in the LDL fraction.

 THERAPEUTIC USES-
* Used to decrese level of triglyceride.

 SIDE EFFECTS-
* Hives
* Difficulty in breathing
* Swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat.

DRUG DRUG INTERACTION-
* Gemfibrozil+Acipimox=Acipimox may increase the myopathic rhabdomyolysis activities of Gemfibrozil.
* Gemfibrozil+Agomilatine=The serum concentration of Agomilatine can be increased when it is combined with Gemfibrozil.
