FOSFESTROL- Anti-Cancer drug

                                               
DESCRIPTION-
Fosfestrol (INN, BAN, JAN) (brand names Honvan, Difostilben, Fosfostilben, Fostrolin, Stilbol, Stilphostrol, Vagestrol, among others), also known as diethylstilbestrol diphosphate (DESDP, DESP), is a synthetic, non-steroidal estrogen of the stilbestrol group that is used in the treatment of prostate cancer.

MECHANISM OF ACTION-
Fosfestrol competitively binds to the androgen receptors present on the prostate gland and form a drug-receptor complex. This inhibits the action of androgen on prostate gland and also hormone induced growth of cancer cell.

  * Dermatomyositis,
  *Nasopharyngeal Fibromas
  *Oncology
  *Parathyroid Carcinoma
  *Plasmacytomas
  *Prostatic Cancer,
  *Rheumatoid Arthritis.

CONTRAINDICATION-
*Hypertension
*Cardiac failure
*Liver diseases
*Cerebrovascular disease.

SIDE EFFECT-
*Congestive heart failure
*Dizziness,
* Anorexia
*Diarrhea
* Fever
* Nausea
* Vomiting
*Perineal Pruritis
