Ketorolac

Introduction
A pyrrolizine carboxylic acid derivative structurally related to indomethacin. It is an NSAID and is used principally for its analgesic activity.

Pharmacological Action
This compound belongs to the class of organic compounds known as acetophenones. These are organic compounds containing the acetophenone structure.For the short-term (~5 days) management of moderately severe acute pain that requires analgesia at the opioid level, usually in a postoperative setting.Ketorolac, an antiinflammatory agent with analgesic and antipyretic properties, It is a peripherally acting analgesic. The biological activity of ketorolac tromethamine is associated with the S-form. Ketorolac tromethamine possesses no sedative or anxiolytic properties

Uses
Ketorolac is indicated for short-term management of moderate to severe pain.
It is used to treat osteoarthritis and control acute pain.

Side Effect
Stomach pain
Constipation
Nausea
Dizziness

Drug drug Interaction
Caffiene + Ketorolac = the risk of adverse effect can be increased when ketorolac is combined
Citric acid + Ketorolac = Ketorola increase the anticoagulant effect of citric acid
Digoxin + ketorolac = the serum concentration of digoxin can be increased
