Mepacrine-Antimicribial drug


                                                                     MEPACRINE
                                                                      (quinacrine)
Description:
 It is an acridine derivative formerly widely used as an antimalarial bit superseded by chloroquine in recent years.
CLASS-ACRIDINES

Adverse Drug Reactions:
Dizziness, headache, CNS stimulation, epilepsy; nausea & vomiting; discoloration of the skin,  blue-black discolouration of the palate and nails; liver toxicity and anemia
MEPACRINE

Uses:
For the treatment of giardiasis and cutaneous leishmaniasis, management of malignant effusions, as an antiprotozoal, antirheumatic and an intrapleural sclerosing agent.
