Fluticasone Propionate- Drug for cough and bronchial asthama and its Drug Drug Interactions

MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Binds to glucocorticoid receptor .Unbound corticosteroids can crodd the membrane of cells of such as mast cells and eosinophils ,binding with high affinity to glucocorticoid receptor .
The results include alteration of transription and protein synthesis , a decreased synthesis of hydrolases ,reduction in fibroblast proliferation. The glucorticoid receptor down regulates 
down regulates proinflammatroy regulators as interleukins.

THERAPEUTIC USES:
A medium potency synthetic corticosteroid ,it is used topically to relieve inflammatory and pruritic symptoms of dermatosis and psoriaisis ,intranasally to manage symptoms
of allergic and non allergic rhinitis.

SIDE EFFECTS:
The dose swallowed after inhalation has lo propensity to cause systemic side effects .

DRUG DRUG INTERACTION
1.Amphetamine + Fluticasone propionate = May decrease the sedative activity of fluticasone.
2. Amitryptyline + Fluticasone propionate = The risk or severity of side effects may be increased.
3. Baclofen + Fluticasone propionate = Increase the CNS activity  of fluticasone.
