MECHANISM OF ACTION:
It is a glucocorticoid receptor antagonist .the anti inflammatory action of corticosteroids are thought to involve lipocortens , phospholipase A2inhibitory protein which inhibit arachedonic acid
And control the biosynthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrines.the immune system is suppressed by corticoid steroid due to decrease in function of lymphatic system, a reduction in immune globulin and complement concentration, the precipitation of lymphocytopenia and interference with antigen antibody binding.flunisolide binds to plasma transcortin and it become active when it is not bounded to transcortin.
THERAPEUTIC USES:
- Allergic rhinigis
- Anti inflammatory action
- SIDE EFFECTS:
- Nse and throat dryness
- Bleeding
- Unpleasant taste
- Glaucoma in some patients
- Irritation
- Candida albicas
DRUG DRUG I NTERACTION:
- Flunisolide + amphotericinB = hypoklemic activity of amphotericiB increases
- Flunisolide + bexarotene =serum concentration of flunisolide decreases
- Flunisolide +boceprevir = serum concentration of flunisolide increases.
