PHARMACOLOGY OF KETANSERIN
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Ketanserin is a serotonin antagonist with a high affinity for peripheral serotonin-2 receptors and thus inhibits serotonin-induced vasoconstriction, bronchoconstriction and platelet aggregation.
USES
1.Anti-hypertension
2.In cardiac surgery
SIDE EFFECTS
1.Ventricular tachycardia
2.Ventricular arrhythmias
3.Drowsiness
4.Visual disturbances
5.Fatigue
6.Dry mouth
7.Sedation.
